About these terms
These terms apply to all bookings made with Trishika Tours, S.T Plaza, N.S. Road, Jaigaon, Alipurduar, West Bengal 736182. By confirming a booking you accept them. Anything specific to your trip is set out in your written quote, which takes precedence over the general terms below.
Quotes and prices
All prices shown on this website are starting prices, per person, and assume two people sharing a room. They are a guide, not a fixed quote.
Your actual price depends on your travel dates, group size, hotel category and the season. Peak season, festival dates and public holidays cost more. A firm price is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
Government charges — including the Bhutan Sustainable Development Fee, permit fees and park entry fees — are set by the relevant authority and can change without notice. Where a government charge increases after you book, the difference is payable by you.
Payment schedule
Typically 25% of the total confirms your booking, with the balance payable before arrival. Some hotels and peak-season bookings require a larger advance, and this will be stated in your quote.
A booking is only confirmed once we have received the advance and sent you a written confirmation. Until then, no rooms, vehicles or permits are held in your name.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
If you cancel, the following normally applies, calculated from your trip start date. More than 30 days before: the advance is refunded less any non-refundable hotel or permit costs already paid. Between 30 and 15 days: 25% of the total is retained. Between 14 and 8 days: 50% is retained. Within 7 days or no-show: no refund.
Some bookings carry stricter terms set by the hotel or by permit authorities, particularly during peak season and festival dates. Where that applies, it is stated clearly in your quote before you pay.
Approved refunds are processed within 15 working days to the original payment method. Bank charges and payment gateway fees are not refundable.
If we cancel or change your trip
We may need to change a route, hotel or date because of weather, landslides, road closures, government orders, or conditions that make travel unsafe. Safety comes before schedule.
Where this happens we will offer an alternative of equivalent standard, or a refund of the unused portion. We are not liable for costs outside our booking — such as flights or train tickets you booked separately — so we recommend flexible tickets and travel insurance.
Permits and documents
You are responsible for carrying valid identity documents and for the accuracy of the details you give us. Permits for Bhutan, North Sikkim, Nathula and Arunachal Pradesh are issued by government authorities at their discretion.
We cannot guarantee that a permit will be granted, and permits are occasionally refused or restricted on the day due to weather, security or administrative reasons. Where a permit is refused for reasons outside our control, the cost of that component is not refundable.
What is included and excluded
Your quote lists exactly what is included. Unless stated otherwise, prices exclude flights and train fares, lunches, personal expenses, tips, camera fees, travel insurance, and anything not specifically listed.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend travel insurance covering medical treatment, evacuation, trip cancellation and lost baggage. Several of our routes cross high altitude, where medical evacuation is expensive.
Health and altitude
Some itineraries cross altitudes above 12,000 feet. You must tell us in advance about any heart condition, breathing condition, pregnancy or mobility limitation so we can plan a suitable pace. You travel at your own risk and are responsible for your own fitness to travel.
Liability
We act as an agent for hotels, transport operators and guides. We select partners carefully, but we are not liable for their acts or omissions, nor for loss, injury or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including weather, landslides, strikes, government action or acts of God.
Complaints
If something is wrong during your trip, tell us immediately on WhatsApp or by phone so we can try to fix it while you are still travelling. Complaints raised after a trip has ended are much harder to resolve.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Indian law, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts at Alipurduar, West Bengal.
