Bhutan
the country that slowed down
No visa for Indians, and the permit is issued at Phuentsholing, a short walk from our office. Fortress monasteries sit above river valleys, prayer flags cross every pass, and the capital still has no traffic lights. Most trips run Thimphu, then Punakha over the Dochula Pass, finishing at the Tiger’s Nest.

Sikkim
a whole Himalaya in one week
Stand beside a frozen lake at 17,000 feet, walk through rhododendron forest, and sit in a monastery courtyard while the clouds clear off Kanchenjunga. Most trips base in Gangtok, add Tsomgo Lake and Nathula, then head north to Lachung for the Yumthang Valley.

Darjeeling
the easy one to love
A UNESCO-listed steam railway still climbs the ridge, the tea gardens that made the town famous are open to visitors, and on a clear morning Kanchenjunga fills the northern sky. Our shortest Himalayan trip, and the simplest to plan.

Dooars
rhino country, an hour away
Sal forest, tea gardens and wide river beds running along the Bhutan foothills. Jaldapara holds one of India’s largest one-horned rhino populations, while Gorumara and Chapramari give quiet watchtower sightings. The closest wilderness to our Jaigaon office.

Nepal
temples, lakes and mountains
Walk through medieval temple squares in Kathmandu, watch the Annapurna range light up over the lake at Pokhara, and take an elephant-grass safari in Chitwan. The widest range of any trip we plan.

North East
the part nobody has crowded yet
Meghalaya has living root bridges and the wettest villages on earth, Assam has the Brahmaputra and the rhinos at Kaziranga, and Arunachal climbs to the high passes around Tawang. The least crowded region we cover.
